2017 HY-Contest Veziroglu Award
A contest for innovative ideas on expansion of hydrogen refueling infrastructure is organized by the Hydrogen Association of India (HAI), honoring Prof. T. N. Veziroglu. The inter-disciplinary teams of students from academic institutes/universities need to apply their creativity and academic skills in the areas of design, engineering, economics, and business science to recommend a solution to achieve the goal of clean hydrogen economy at an affordable cost.

Nazim Muradov Recognized for Inventions and Advances in Hydrogen Energy Research
This month, both UCF and the National Academy of Inventors (NAI) will honor Muradov for his work in hydrogen and alternative fuel sources. On April 5, Muradov will receive the Excellence in Research Award at UCF and then on April 6, he will be inducted as a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors in Boston.

WHEC 2016 Zaragoza
The phenomenal success of WHEC 2016 Zaragoza is a reflection of the ever-increasing dedication and enthusiasm the leaders in Hydrogen and Fuel Cells have displayed on a continual basis. During this Conference, there were at least 600 presentations from 50 different countries; shedding light on the fact that automobile industry is the leading driving force in the sector and the highest contributor towards raising society´s awareness in regards to hydrogen as an energy carrier. There are also developments in the generation at a small scale. Japan is one of these instances. In order to face electric power distribution constraints, fuel cells are being installed in households to generate electricity; while as large stationary projects are also being developed, and innovations in Power to Gas- the technology used to utilize and turn the electric power surplus coming from solar and wind renewable energy, first into hydrogen and subsequently into clean synthetic and renewable natural gas.

IAHE Vice President Dr. Bolcich and Board of Directors Dr. Spazzafumo visited Pope Francisco to talk about their Association and the envisioned future they wish to accomplish using Hydrogen. Dr. Bolcich said "Today, 1st of June, together with Giuseppe and my wife Maggie, we had the opportunity to participate at the General Pope Audience in Vatican. We were located at the second row of the main *palco*. After the speeches and praying of Francisco and bishops and other members of the Catholic Church, Francisco made close contact with people in the *palco*.

Governor of Tokyo has a vision that can change the world! Tokyo plans to spend 40 billion yen about $330 million through 2020 to encourage the development of technologies based on hydrogen, a gas capable of producing energy without exhaust other than water when mixed with oxygen in a fuel cell.

“The first Tokyo Olympics, 50 years ago, left a bullet-train system as a legacy. I want to leave a hydrogen society as a legacy for the next Tokyo Olympics,” Gov. Yoichi Masuzoe.

Malaysian Scientists Develop Hydrogen Fuel Technology

(Bernama) -- A small group of scientists have invented a technology called Hydrogen Fuel Technology (HFT) which could reduce petrol consumption up to 50 percent. Spokesperson for the scientists, Mohammad Isa Abdullah, said that the HFT system was designed to fit all types of cars with particular emphasis on national cars, namely Proton Perdana, Proton Waja, Proton Wira, Proton Iswara, Proton Saga and Perodua Kancil.

Energy Expert Calls on the UK Government for Tenfold Increase in Fuel Cell Research
(Fuel Cell Today) Robert Thring, a fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and Professor of Fuel Cell Engineering at Loughborough University, is urging the UK Government to increase fuel prices and take urgent action to avert a fuel crisis. Measured electric efficiency of the fuel cells in this "real life" condition is 61,8%. Installation and operation of the pilot-plant is the first step in the development of a 50 MW fuel cell power plant.
