As announced earlier this year, the IJHE created ten Awards to be presented to the authors of the most cited papers in five different categories to be selected for the previous odd and years. These categories are Hydrogen Energy/Hydrogen Economy, Hydrogen Production, Hydrogen Storage & Distribution, Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Applications. The first Award Winners were selected out of the papers published in the years 2016 and 2017, and the Award Certificates were presented during the Gala Festival of the 22 World Hydrogen Energy Conference (22 WHEC 2018), 17-22 June 2018, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Toshiba's Pure Hydrogen Fuel Cell System Now Providing Power and Hot Water to New Hotel. Hydrogen to fuel the system is extracted from recycled used plastics, and the fuel cell helps to meet the energy needs of the hotel. Honda R&D USA and Japan have been working with Wenger Engineering to make hydrogen refueling faster and more efficient. The approach is called “MC Method” or “MC Formula.” Honda has decided to publish a software that would help station designers and engineers apply it correctly.

student teams from around the world to design a "Power-to-Gas

A contest for innovative ideas on expansion of hydrogen refueling infrastructure is organized by the Hydrogen Association of India (HAI), honoring Prof. T. N. Veziroglu. |Nazim Muradov Recognized for Inventions and Advances in Hydrogen Energy Research
This month, both UCF and the National Academy of Inventors (NAI) will
honor Muradov for his work in hydrogen and alternative fuel sources. On

|Tokyo Hopes to Make Hydrogen Power the Star of the 2020 Olympics
Governor of Tokyo has a vision that can change the world! Tokyo plans to spend 40 billion yen about $330 million through 2020 to encourage the development of technologies based on hydrogen, a gas capable of producing energy without exhaust other than water when mixed with oxygen in a fuel cell.
“The first Tokyo Olympics, 50 years ago, left a bullet-train system as a legacy. I want to leave a hydrogen society as a legacy for the next Tokyo Olympics,” Gov. Yoichi Masuzoe.

|Energy Expert Calls on the UK Government for Tenfold Increase in Fuel Cell Research
(Fuel Cell Today) Robert Thring, a fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and Professor of Fuel Cell Engineering at Loughborough University, is urging the UK Government to increase fuel prices and take urgent action to avert a fuel crisis.
