Greg Naterer

Dr. Greg Naterer is Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science and Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Memorial University of Newfoundland in St. Johnís, Canada. He has made significant contributions to mechanical engineering, specifically in the fields of hydrogen production, heat transfer and fluid mechanics. He led an international hydrogen research consortium, involving eight collaborating institutions, five countries and six industrial partners, which developed the world's first large-scale copper-chlorine cycle of thermochemical water splitting for hydrogen production. He has contributed over 200 journal papers, six patents, and three books in the fields of hydrogen, thermal-fluids and energy systems. Dr. Naterer has served in prominent national and international leadership roles in engineering research and education, for example, as Chair of the IAHE Nuclear Hydrogen Division. Dr. Naterer received his PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of Waterloo in 1995. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering (CSME), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC).
