Dr. Ping CHEN is Senior Research Fellow at Physics Department, National University if Singapore (NUS). She joined NUS in 1997 right after she received Ph.D in Xiamen University, China. Her previous research activities cover Heterogeneous Catalysis, Surface Science and Nanomaterials. In year 2001, she and her team discovered a new solid-state hydrogen storage material, namely Metal-N-H complex. Compared with conventional metal hydride, the Metal-N-H system has broader material scope, higher storage capacity and tunable thermodynamics. Their work has been widely recognized and published in Nature, Advanced Materials, and Journal of Physical Chemistry B etc. Till now, Dr. Chen has 10 awarded and pending patents, among which 6 are related to the Hydrogen Energy. Dr. Chen is also the Principle Investigator of three international & local research collaborative projects supported by Sandia National Laboratories (Under Department of Energy, USA), NEDO (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization, Japan) and A*STAR (Agency for Science, Technology and Research, Singapore). |
